Dr. Bill Shaw - Principal Consultant
Bill has more 30 than years’ worth of expertise in economic geology with operational experience in gold and ferrous metals and resource modelling experience in many commodities. He has also audited mineral resources and ore (mineral) reserves for most commodities to international standards including compliance with the following:
- JORC Code
- US Securities and Exchange Commission including S-K 1300
- Canadian National Instrument NI 43-101
- South African SAMREC Code.
Bill’s History
Bill did his PhD on the Optimisation of Mining Grade Control and also has a Master of Geoscience in Mineral Economics. Since 2014, he has served as the President of the Australian Geoscience Council (AGC), which is widely considered as the peak body for geoscience in Australia.
He is a long-standing committee member of the Australasian Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC), a Member of the VALMIN Committee, and the Australian representative on the International IMVAL Committee. He also served as a past president of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG).
Bill has also written over 30 technical papers developing the science of Mining Grade Control, including reconciliation, geometallurgy, and ore control.
